Christian University Offers Students Credit for Planned Parenthood Internship

A Christian university is is allowing students to intern at Planned Parenthood in exchange for school credit, according to the pro-life group Students for Life.

According to an email from the history department at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas, Planned Parenthood of Greater Texas is seeking an intern to work on “a project highlighting its history in Fort Worth since it was established here in 1935.”

The history department at TCU adds that students could earn three credits from the opportunity.

Kristan Hawkins, president of Students for Life of America, said in a statement, “It is a disgrace for a large Christian university to offer credit for an internship at the largest abortion provider in the nation.”

“Instead of educating and equipping students on how to persuasively discuss the pro-life viewpoint and help women in crisis, they instead reward students for spending valuable time volunteering for an organization that ends the lives of over 325,000 innocent human beings a year,” Hawkins said. “And just think of the parents who thought their child would be receiving a valuable Christian-focused education at a private school. They are paying over $53,500 a year to be swindled.”

Spokespersons for Texas Christian University did not immediately return TheBlaze’s request for comment.

Employees of Planned Parenthood of Greater Texas were featured in undercover videos released by the Center for Medical Progress last year. In one video, Dr. Amna Dermish, an abortion provider at the organization, described procuring an intact brain as “something to strive for.” Planned Parenthood denied illegal conduct, and the allegations are still under congressional investigation.

Planned Parenthood’s activities increase breast cancer rate more than anything else Komen Foundation does decreases it. For Komen to give into PP’s campaign of lies and pressure to give them money would be like Mothers Against Drunk Driving letting Budweiser shake them down for funds.

Study: Abortion Increases Rate of Mental Health Disorders

It may be no surprise to pro-life advocates that a new study published in the July 2016 issue of the peer-reviewed journal Sage Open Medicine confirms women who have abortions run a significantly increased risk of mental health disorders and substance abuse. But the research offers an important boon to pro-life groups in the United States, where scientific evidence showing the harmful consequences of abortion for women has been scarce because available data is inconsistent and limited.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) does not require states to submit abortion data. Each state sets its own reporting laws and many don’t report at all. States that do provide information have no uniformity in the type of data they submit.

An extensive analysis of state abortion reporting, published by the Charlotte Lozier Institute in August 2016, found abortion reporting is weakest in states that rank highest in abortion rates, including New York, Maryland, the District of Columbia, New Jersey, Florida, and California.

Because researchers have no reliable way to track abortion information, most studies they conduct on the topic have been statistically flawed. In 2008, an American Psychological Association task force conducted an evaluation of the scientific studies on abortion and mental health difficulties published since 1989. They found the majority of studies suffered from severe methodological problems.

Virginia High School Opens Planned Parenthood Club

Abortion conglomerate Planned Parenthood has moved beyond pushing their death agenda on Girl Scouts and college students, and have now begun phase 1 of their incursion into high schools.

According to LifeSiteNews, Maggie L. Walker Governor’s School for Government and International Studies in Virginia, a public high school, has allowed students to form the “Planned Parenthood Generation Action” club, whose stated purpose is to evangelize the organization's cause.

"The purpose of this club is to provide education, outreach, and advocacy opportunities at Maggie Walker to support the goals of Planned Parenthood," says the club's constitution and bylaws. "It is meant to let students learn more about the issues that affect their lives, create a network with other students who support Planned Parenthood, and engage in the political process to win elections and pass pro reproductive freedom legislation."

Employing a regular round table, the new club comes with three vice presidents — one for education, one for advocacy and the third for outreach – and faculty monitor Janet Spencer, an English teacher at the school. Seniors Kiera Goddu, Amanda Mier, and Naomi Vickers advocated the club's founding

The school has also gotten in on the action of promoting the club as well, posting on their Facebook page: "Whether you are interested in health, education, or getting community service hours this election season this club is for you."

From the school student news website:

Goddu, Mier, and Vickers are more than enthused to bring a new experience to the student body of Maggie Walker. Goddu explained that Generation Action chapters operate by advocating for reproductive rights, keeping Planned Parenthood clinics open, offering a wide range of publicly available education services, and lobbying to remove targeted restrictions such as those imposed on abortion providers. Maggie Walker’s Generation Action club plans to meet the goals of its founders and of the Planned Parenthood organization through three primary branches.

Senior Goddu has worked with Planned Parenthood in the past and rejects all abstinence-only sex education, which she said was useless at her middle-school.

"They said that the only definition of abstinence was that it was abstaining from sex until marriage between a man and a woman," she said. "And I was like — abstinence can be applied to many things — like abstaining from doing basically anything!”

Mier promised the new club will also be "LGBTQ inclusive" beyond "what’s between a man and a woman."

Vickers just threw around the word choice a lot when referring to abortion as she promised to make that one of the club's cornerstones.

"A choice in any type of good society should be … the choice to abort if she wants to or [the woman] should have the choice to have the child if she wants to and feel like the government places enough value on the life of all people that they will support her and her child in every way possible," she stated. "That is a choice, and that’s what I want people to know."

“Organic” Baby Food May Soon Contain Who-Knows-What
October 9, 2012
The National Organic Standards Board (NOSB) is even considering allowing genetically engineered vaccines for organic livestock. Action Alert!

The NOSB—a division of the USDA—is responsible for regulating all organic crops and determining what can be called “Certified Organic.” The board is meeting next week, and on the agenda will be whether to allow eight synthetic substances in organic baby food, primarily in organic infant formula.

The substances in question—ascorbyl palmitate, synthetic beta-carotene, a proprietary form of lutein, synthetic lycopene, synthetic l-carnitine, synthetic l-methionine, synthetic taurine, and nucleotides—all have organic alternatives, are not nutritionally necessary as additives, and might be difficult for the infant’s body to process.

In particular, ascorbyl palmitate (AP) and synthetic beta carotene are used as preservatives in infant formula to prevent them from oxidizing and becoming rancid. However, organic standards state that synthetic ingredients cannot qualify as organic if their primary purpose is as a preservative. The International Formula Council, which is trying to get them included, is hoping to sneak around the restriction by never using the word “preservative” in its justification, instead calling them “antioxidants” and saying they “prevent rancidity.” AP has no nutritional value; its sole purpose is to extend shelf life. This is the very definition of a preservative—and the opposite of an organic product. More to the point, organic alternatives exist for AP (such as rosemary extract and tocopherols) and also for synthetic beta carotene.

Dead newborn lives
Premature newborn was pronounced dead, but doctors gave him to his mother to hold.
A premature newborn in Australia born at 27 weeks and weighing only two pounds, was pronounced dead by his physician. Jamie Ogg is now 3 years old.

Jamie was pronounced dead, the doctor handed him to his mother, Kate, so that she could say goodbye to her son. Kate took Jamie into her arms and tearfully caressed him and talked to him.
Occasionally he would gasp and Kate held on to Jamie for two hours, cradling and talking to him, and slowly she witnessed him beginning to show signs of life.

Jamie began gasping for air more frequently, and then Kate gave him a little breast milk on her finger. The baby took the milk, and then he opened his eyes. Her stupefied doctor stood next to the bed, astonished and in disbelief. It was a miracle of a mothers love.

Jeremiah 1:4  Then the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
Jeremiah 1:5  Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.

Job 31:15  Did not he that made me in the womb make him? and did not one fashion us in the womb?

Babies yawn in the womb
4D scans show fetuses yawn in the womb

Growing into a fully formed human being is a long process, and scientists have found that unborn babies not only hiccup, swallow and stretch in the womb, they yawn too.

Researchers who studied 4D scans of 15 healthy fetuses also said they think yawning is a developmental process which could potentially give doctors a new way to check on a baby's health.
While some scientists have previously suggested that fetuses yawn, others disagree and say it is nothing more than a developing baby opening and stretching its mouth.

But writing in the journal PLOS ONE on Wednesday, British researchers said their study was able to clearly distinguish yawning from "non-yawn mouth opening" based on how long the mouth was open.
The researchers did this by using 4D video footage to examine all the times when fetuses opened their mouths.

Nadja Reissland of Durham University's department of Psychology, who led the study, said the function and importance of yawning in fetuses is still unknown, but the findings suggest it may be linked to fetal development and could provide a further indication of the health of the unborn baby.

"Unlike us, fetuses do not yawn contagiously, nor do they yawn because they are sleepy," she said. "Instead, the frequency of yawning in the womb may be linked to the maturing of the brain early in gestation."

The study was carried out on eight female and seven male fetuses from 24 to 36 weeks gestation. The researchers found that yawning declined from 28 weeks and that there was no significant difference in how often boys and girls yawned.

Baby Reaches Out From Womb To Hold Finger Of Doctor Performing C-Section…
PHOENIX -- Giving birth can be a blur but a Valley couple took a picture that brings it into crystal clarity.  The image of their baby reaching out of her mother’s womb to hold the finger of the doctor performing a C-section has gone viral.

The little baby’s name is Nevaeh – Heaven spelled backward.  Even the hospital staff told her parents there's something almost spiritual about the picture of Nevaeh holding the doctor's finger before technically being born.

“It was such an amazing photo.  [Hospital staff] had possibly heard of it happening but they had never seen a photo of it,” said Alicia Atkins, Nevaeh’s mother.

Few lives will be as well documented as little Nevaeh's. Her mother is a professional photographer who owns A Classic Pin-Up in Glendale. However, it was her dad, Randy, who snapped the picture.

“The doctor called me over and said, ‘Hey, she's grabbing my finger.’  So I ran over there and just grabbed the shot and I was just in awe looking at it.  It was such an amazing picture,” said Randy Atkins, adding that he was nervous about missing the precious and fleeting moment as he hurried to snap a picture.

The picture has gotten more than 10,000 views and 1,000 likes on Facebook. Alicia has even gotten a few offers to buy the photo.
Surprisingly though, the couple was never originally going to show the photo to anyone outside their family and friends.

“We didn't think we were going to get such positive feedback.  We thought we would get more negative ‘that's disgusting…’” Alicia said.  “[Instead] everybody just thought it was the best thing in the world.”

Nevaeh was born in October and has two older siblings, both of whom are enjoying the family's new-found popularity.
