7.4 Earthquake hits Aceh, Sumatra, INDONESIA
May 9, 2010
A powerful 7.4 magnitude Earthquake hit the Indonesian province of Aceh,
causing panic in an area that was devastated by the December 26, 2004 tsunami.
The quake hit at 12:59 p.m. local time, just after noon, depth (41 or 38 or 28 ?) miles on the Aceh coast on the island of Sumatra.
(I read several reports, and the depth varies greatly.)

A local tsunami alert was issued but lifted about 90 minutes later.
A reporter in Banda Aceh said the ground shook for about 3 minutes.
Coastal residents fled from their homes and headed inland fearing a destructive tsunami, but officials said there were no reports of damage or casualties.

Tremors were felt in Malaysia.
A small tsunami wave just 7.9 inches high was detected by a buoy off the coast.

You will be hearing of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not frightened, alarmed,
for those things must take place, but that is not yet the end.

For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and in various places there
will be famines and earthquakes. But all these things are merely the beginning of birth pangs.
The one who ENDURES to the END will be saved.  Matthew 24

Indonesia 7.7 earthquake and tsunami
October  25,  2010
 -   150 miles W of Sumatra, Indonesia
There was a 6.1 quake there a few hours ago ... many strong aftershock followed quake
A strong earthquake has hit off the western coast of Indonesia's Sumatra island and triggered a tsunami watch.
The U.S. Geological Survey says the 7.5-magnitude temblor struck at a depth of 20 miles (30 kilometers) and is centered on a small island off the coast of Sumatra, where a massive earthquake and tsunami hit in 2004.
A tsunami watch was issued for Indonesia, saying waves were possible within a few hundred miles (kilometers) of the epicenter. However, the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center said historical data suggest any wave it created would not be destructive.

My guess this volcano and the earthquake are related, but I have seen no reports by a professional.

Hundreds More Feared Dead from Indonesia Tsunami
October 28, 2010
A multimillion dollar warning system installed after the monster 2004 quake and tsunami broke down in September because it was not being properly maintained.
An official says the death toll from a tsunami off western Indonesia has risen to 343 as more bodies are found in a search of the remote islands that were hardest-hit.

Ferry Faisal, of the West Sumatra provincial disaster management agency, raised the official toll Thursday to 343 from 311 earlier in the day. He says 338 people are still missing.
Rescuers fear the numbers could climb higher, suspecting many of the missing may have been swept away to sea.

An island rescue official who survived the wave described villages flattened down to their foundations, while elsewhere in Indonesia, villagers held a mass burial for some of the 33 people killed when one the country's most volatile volcanos erupted.

President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono was to meet Thursday with survivors of the twin catastrophes, which struck within 24 hours in different corners of the seismically charged region, severely testing his disaster-prone nation's emergency response network.

7.3 major earthquake Indonesia
January 11, 2012  -  7.3 major earthquake SW of Banda Aceh, Sumatra, Indonesia
,
tsunami warning.
This is where the disaster hit in 2004
DEPTH  18.1 miles

The quake, which happened at 12:37 a.m. local time at a depth of 18.1 miles, was centered in the Indian Ocean about 262 miles southwest of Banda Aceh, Sumatra, Indonesia, according to the USGS. It also was 590 miles west of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

There were no immediate reports of damage.
The Indonesian government issued a tsunami warning after the quake, according to Reuters.

The U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's Pacific Tsunami Warning Center says a destructive widespread tsunami threat "does not exist based on historical earthquake and tsunami data."
"However, there is a very small possibility of a local tsunami that could affect coasts located usually no more than 100 kilometers from the earthquake epicenter," a PTWC bulletin said.

In December 2004, Indonesia and a number of other countries were hard hit by a tsunami generated by a 9.1-magnitude earthquake off northern Sumatra. The tsunami killed more than 225,000 people in 14 countries - mainly India, Indonesia, Maldives, Sri Lanka and Thailand. The Indonesian region of Banda Aceh was hard-hit: About 150,000 died there.

7.3 Magnitude Earthquake off West Coast of Sumatra
A 7.3 magnitude earthquake rattled off the west coast of northern Sumatra Tuesday at 12:37 a.m. local time (Monday 1:37 p.m. EST).
The quake struck 262 miles southwest of Banda Aceh, Sumatra, at 2.396°N latitude, 93.175°'E longitude. According to the U.S. Geological Survey, very light shaking was felt along the northern coast of Sumatra with the threat of light, if any, damage.
According to the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center, "a destructive widespread tsunami threat does not exist based on historical earthquake and tsunami data. Authorities in the region near the epicenter should be made aware of this possibility."
