Europe needs own army
Nov 10, 2016
 -  Europe should build its own army and not rely on Washington DC.  AMEN to that!
Speaking in Berlin EU prez Juncker admitted his speech had been written with the assumption that Hillary Clinton would be the US president.  We need more security in Europe, Juncker said.  We need a different way of organizing a European defense.

Junky said - The election of Trump poses the risk of upsetting intercontinental relations.

Trump has accused Europe of shirking their financial commitments to NATO. Trump has also criticized the proposed TTIP treaty between the EU and the US, and has previously dismissed climate change as a hoax.
I have a good title for him  -  Junkyard Jackass!

EU Army set to be agreed TONIGHT – and BRITAIN will foot the £420m-a-year bill

Brussels politicians will convene in the French city of Strasbourg to thrash out the plans that will cost taxpayers' £420m-a-year.

They will vote on the issue to establish an "EU-wide system for the coordination of rapid movement of defence forces personnel" across Europe.

If agreed Britain will not only be forced to foot the bill because it is timetabled for before the triggering of Article 50, but it will also be legally drawn into it.

An EU army is being agreed tonight in Strasbourg -with the cause being BREXIT

And bizarrely the EU claims it needs to make a position of European Defence Minister and roll out a massive army because of BREXIT.

It states: "At a time when public support for the EU is being called into question in some Member States, defence and security is an area where the individual and collective benefits of more Europe can be easily demonstrated, especially regarding the likely challenges to EU’s standing as a strategic actor following Brexit."

The report demands the EU bankroll the initiative with an immediate £76million for 'preparatory action on EU defence research' starting in 2017.

Politicians in each of the 28 member state will also be forced to hand over their own defence plans and capabilities to the EU as it probes capability.

The plans have been in the pipeline for a number of years but have repeatedly been denied by the UK government.

UKIP defence spokesman Mike Hookem, a former soldier said the super army could be potentially mobilised outside of Europe too.

And he said the proposal could pose serious consequences for the EU.

He also warned the EU Defence Union would have its own trade union meaning soldiers could go on strike and hold governments and the EU to ransom.

Italy's Prime minister Matteo Renzi (L) speaks with Luxembourg's Prime minister Xavier Bettel during the second day of an European Union leaders summit

He said: "It could threaten Britain's military readiness if it were to be dragged along in an EU Military by a political establishment trying its hardest to ignore the result of the EU referendum and leave the EU.

"There are clear security reasons why members of the Armed Forces are subject to different rules from those in civilian life: rules which were compensated for previously by governments who took the welfare of its troops and this country seriously with work and fiscal benefits.

"It is not in the country's national interests for soldiers, sailors or airmen to be able to lay down arms and ignore the chain of command because of a union decision.

"I have been on exercises with Danish troops who stopped working at 1700hrs.

"Military life does not work like that and war does not fit into a 9-5 schedule.

Mike Hookem said the super army could be potentially mobilised outside of Europe too

"It also means that often UK and US personnel have to do the bulk of the work in international organisations like SHAPE and NATO.

"If there were an EU Military with a strong trade union we could see situations which terrorists could easily take advantage of, particularly if they were based on a French style trade union system which has often brought countries to a standstill and created havoc as we all saw in Calais in the last few months."

Plans for an EU army will cost taxpayers' £420m-a-year

The UK currently has its own rapid deployment brigades called PEPS or 'Priming Equipment Packs; which includes all the scales, support and spares that that unit would require for operations.

However, Mr Hookem has warned that the two battalions earmarked for this role, 16 Air Assault Brigade and 3 Commando Brigade, cannot actually deploy at the same time.

Service Personnel in the UK Armed Forces are forbidden by the Queen's Regulations from joining a union or going on strike: regulations by which every serviceman and woman is bound.

Mr Hookem said the EU army could 'threaten Britain's military readiness'

He added: "These plans include reform of the EU battlegroups concept, aiming at the establishment of permanent units which would be independent of any lead nation and subject to systematic joint training and an EU-wide system for the coordination of the rapid movement of defence forces' personnel, equipment and supplies."

The document also calls for EU-NATO projects on communications and response including at sea, on migration, cyber security and defence as well as on exercises and bolstering defences in the 'buffer states' between the EU and Russia.

It raises the question of whether NATO countries could be called to defend EU countries which are not part of the EU.

Mr Hookem continued: "It is another demonstration of why the UK needs to detach itself from the EU and the direction in which it is heading and instead properly fund its Armed Forces and rebuild its relationship with the US whilst ending this unnecessary provocation of Russia which has not neglected its military and has vastly superior fire and man power to us."

German Court Rules That 'Sharia Police' Are Not Illegal
The slow German national suicide continues.

And the slow German national suicide continues, as prosecutors have tried but failed to build a case against a fundamentalist Muslim group patroling German streets enforcing sharia law.

The self-styled vigilantes, wearing orange vests marked "Sharia Police," walked the streets of the western German city of Wuppertal in September 2014, telling nightclub-goers to refrain from drinking alcohol and listening to music, and arcade customers not to play games for money.

The city's district court ruled that the vests worn by seven accused members of the group did not breach a ban on political uniforms. Judges said there could only be a violation of the law - originally aimed against street movements such as the early Nazi party - if the uniforms were "suggestively militant or intimidating." In this instance, the judges declared the vests to be non-threatening, noting that one witness even thought the men were part of a bachelor party.

The same court had already thrown out the case last year, but was overruled on appeal by a higher court which agreed with prosecutors that the ban on uniforms could be applied in this case. Monday's verdict is not yet final and may still be appealed.

So-called "sharia patrols" by sometimes violent radical young Salafists have also been seen in other European cities such as London, Copenhagen and Hamburg.

The Wuppertal group is under the leadership of German Salafist convert Sven Lau, one of Germany's most controversial and best known Islamist preachers, according to The Local website in Germany. He is currently on trial in a separate case on charges of backing a terrorist group fighting in Syria.

African Migrants Riot Against 'Racist' Italians, Warn 'Allah Will Guide Us in Revenge'

The Bataclan massacre was a “revenge of the excluded”, warned one of the hundreds of migrants, most of them illegal, who took to the streets to protest against not being given a “decent life” by Italian taxpayers.

“We have nothing in this city”, a man from Cameroon said, angry that people in Italy “do not understand that we are also boys and would like a decent life”.

The rioters are among 1,500 Africans illegally squatting in Turin’s abandoned Olympic village. Most of the men are in their twenties and while there are some who work on the black market, many complain about having nothing to do.

“You Italians — tell your children that we are not dogs. Keep them quiet because our patience will end sooner or later,” one warned. Another cheered the Bataclan massacre in which 89 people were murdered, many of whom were reportedly tortured, hailing it as a “revenge of the excluded”. “One dead of ours [Africans], one death of yours,” he cried.

The trouble started on Wednesday evening when around 300 residents of the former Olympics site took to the streets. They blocked traffic, uprooted signposts, overturned garbage bins, and hurled stones and bottles while screaming “racist” and “bastards” at passers-by. “The Italians are racist and the police control us,” the migrants railed.

The riot calmed down after midnight when police arrived, but shops were forced to close the following day as violence erupted once again when migrants continued to riot.

The man who first notified police of the trouble recalled: “We were already in bed when there was this outbreak. They shook our shutters and the windows then a group of people ran out screaming. We were afraid, not for we adults, but for our children.”

A local called Umberto said he’s now considering moving away from the area after the scenes this week. “Until yesterday we were just fed up with this situation of lawlessness that is in the area. Now we’re really fearful,” he told La Stampa.

Northern League MEP Mario Borghezio said his anti-mass migration party has for years sounded the alarm on the situation at Turin’s former Olympics site, and warned that the danger it poses has become too acute to ignore.

He said: “It’s evident that measures taken so far have been insufficient to prevent the continuing acts of violence which are generating great fear and concern in citizens.”

“The government must now root out the gangrenous [criminality] of the site by taking the urgent and necessary step of relocating the migrants and expelling all criminals,” Borghezio added.

The Northern League politician called for zero tolerance of migrants at the former Olympic village last year when it emerged that three African men from the site had kidnapped, held for 30 hours, and repeatedly raped a girl with mental disabilities.

Voters in Italy, Austria send message to EU leaders: Hold on tight

By Nic Robertson, CNN

Italians vote 'no,' a win for Eurosceptics

(CNN)Europeans rode an emotional roller coaster Sunday. Up, then down.

The resignation of Italy's Prime Minister Matteo Renzi in the early hours of Monday signaled what so many had feared, that his referendum on political reforms inside Italy would reverberate across all of Europe.

Hours earlier, European leaders had hailed pro-EU candidate Alexander Van der Bellen's trouncing of nationalist Norbert Hofer in Austria's Presidential election as a victory over nationalism.

Germany's Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier said "all of Europe is relieved."

Both men are paying particularly close attention as they, along with the Dutch, face their own elections next year.

In a Europe awash with an apparently infectious populism, how votes go beyond their borders is suddenly very relevant.

Their relief over the Austrian vote was short lived. Renzi's referendum defeat hands Italy's EU skeptics a stronger mandate and possibly enough clout in Parliament or the polls to push their agenda.
