CANCER: Causes, Treatment, natural cures

DMSO: A Powerful Healing Agent Used in Cancer Treatment but Censored in U.S.
12/27/16 - DMSO is a well-studied healing compound, but virtually unknown to the public. Why?

Technically it’s known as dimethyl sulphoxide, and its physiological properties were accidentally discovered well before its medical applications were researched in the 1960s and publicized in the 1970s. It soon became a controversial cancer treatment or adjunct to chemotherapy that is now mostly suppressed in the USA.

Russian scientist Alexander Zaytsev discovered DMSO as an industrial solvent by oxygenating dimethyl sulfide. Yet it was around 100 years later that Dr. Stanley Jacob at the Oregon Health and Science University Medical School discovered highly purified DMSO could penetrate skin and organ membranes without damaging them.

Then in the 1970s, even mainstream media was reporting DMSO as a promising safe and highly effective curing agent for several maladies. There were studies demonstrating DMSO’s ability as a powerful adjunct for orthodox chemo therapies and even a promising natural solution for curing cancer by itself. Here’s a good DMSO presentation on a 1970s CBS “60 Minutes” feature, highlighting the work of Dr. Stanley Jacob.

Dr. Jacob earned his Medical Degree from Ohio State University in 1948, graduating cum laude. He also completed a Research Fellowship at Harvard Medical School from December 1950 – September 1952. He went on to teach surgery at Harvard Medical School. His full list of credentials can be viewed here.

In 1982 Dr. Jacob was a defendant in a Federal conspiracy trial for allegedly participating in a “scheme to gain Government approval of dimethyl sulfoxide, popularly known as DMSO.” The jury was deadlocked and the judge dismissed the case as a “mistrial.” (Source.)

But since the publicity in the 1970s and 1980s, interest has waned to the point of inexpensive DMSO’s disappearing from even the alternative health movement’s webscape.  That’s unfortunate. Here’s why it’s almost disappeared from public awareness and why it should be brought up again.

Green tea appears to ward off some cancers in women
Older women who regularly drunk green tea may have slightly lower risks of colon, stomach and throat cancers than women who don't, according to a Canadian study that followed thousands of Chinese women over a decade.

The researchers, whose report appeared in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, found that of the more than 69,000 women, those who drank green tea at least three times a week were 14 percent less likely to develop a cancer of the digestive system.

The study adds to debate over the impact of green tea on cancer risks. Past studies have so far come to conflicting findings on whether green tea drinkers really do have lower cancer risks.

"In this large prospective cohort study, tea consumption was associated with reduced risk of colorectal and stomach/esophageal cancers in Chinese women," wrote study leader Wei Zheng, who heads epidemiology at Vanderbilt University school of Medicine in Nashville, and his colleagues.

DCA, a Cure for Cancer discovered
Canadian researchers published preliminary data on the effects a compound called DCA (Dichloroacetate) in treating cancer.
While this information was initially very promising, little official progress has been made, because there is no funding available for clinical research in the United States.
DCA is commercially accessible and may be used successfully in cancer treatment protocols, but it should always be used under the care of a physician.
DCA is a chemical compound that is analogous to the common household product acetic acid (vinegar).
Early human testing results from a clinic that is useing the stuff, stats and all.

This video presentation is an EYE-POPPER!
The documentary is about a MD curing cancer and being persecuted by the FDA.I am not a MD and cant tell you what to do to your body.I can tell you that if you are diagnosed with cancer, research the prescribed treatment before beginning it.

Did You Know That Taking A Daily Garlic Supplement Protects You From Mosquito Bites?
Here in Florida, where it is moist and humid all the time, mosquitos are everywhere. Yet I rarely get more than a bite per year because the garlic I take is a natural insect repellant. I watch with a wry smile as people around me slather their skin with cancer-causing chemicals like DDT to keep the bugs off, urging them to use garlic instead.

Here in Florida, where it is moist and humid all the time, mosquitos are everywhere. And they don’t like garlic.

“Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.” 3 John 1:2 (KJV)

For thousands of years, people have been improving their health by taking raw, cooked and supplemented garlic. As you will see in a moment, the list of it’s beneficial properties is truly astounding. But we also want to tell you about one benefit you may not be aware of – it wards off mosquito and bug bite attacks, too!

Researchers in Brazil announced Thursday the “presence of the Zika virus” in Culex mosquitoes (the common house mosquito) in the eastern city of Recife. The findings were released with a word of caution: “The obtained data will require additional studies in order to assess the potential participation of Culex in the spread of Zika and its role in the epidemic.” The Zika Virus has pa lot of people in a panic, and to protect themselves they are applied chemical-based bug repellant on their skin which is not always a good thing. Garlic can help.

Top 10 Actually Proven Health Benefits of Garlic:

For the past two decades, I have personally taken between 600 mg – 1800 mg of Kyolic Aged Garlic Extract on a daily basis. This was worked to keep my blood pressure and cholesterol naturally low, as well as bolster my immune system. And it also has kept me nearly bug bite-free in all that time as well. Here in Florida, where it is moist and humid all the time, mosquitos are everywhere. Yet I rarely get more than a bite per year because the garlic I take is also a natural insect repellant. I watch with a wry smile as people around me slather their skin with cancer-causing chemicals like DDT to keep the bugs off, urging them to use garlic instead.

If you are worried about catching a blood-borne illness from insect bites, you better start talking garlic right away. And here are some of the more traditional and well-known benefits of daily garlic supplementation:

•Cardiovascular Benefits: Garlic’s numerous beneficial cardiovascular effects are due to not only its sulfur compounds, but also to its vitamin C, vitamin B6, selenium and manganese. Garlic is a very good source of vitamin C, the body’s primary antioxidant defender in all aqueous (water-soluble) areas, such as the bloodstream, where it protects LDL cholesterol from oxidation. Since it is the oxidized form of LDL cholesterol that initiates damage to blood vessel walls, reducing levels of oxidizing free radicals in the bloodstream can have a profound effect on preventing cardiovascular disease. Garlic’s vitamin B6 helps prevent heart disease via another mechanism: lowering levels of homocysteine. An intermediate product of an important cellular biochemical process called the methylation cycle, homocysteine can directly damage blood vessel walls. The selenium in garlic can become an important part of our body’s antioxidant system. A cofactor of glutathione peroxidase(one of the body’s most important internally produced antioxidant enzymes), selenium also works with vitamin E in a number of vital antioxidant systems. Garlic is rich not only in selenium, but also in another trace mineral, manganese, which also functions as a cofactor in a number of other important antioxidant defense enzymes, for example, superoxide dismutase. Studies have found that in adults deficient in manganese, the level of HDL (the “good form” of cholesterol) is decreased.

•Anti-Inflammatory Benefits: Our cardiovascular system is not the only body system that may be able to benefit from garlic’s anti-inflammatory properties. There’s preliminary evidence (mostly from animal studies, and mostly based on garlic extracts rather than whole food garlic) that our our musculoskeletal system and respiratory system can also benefit from anti-inflammatory compounds in garlic. Both the diallyl sulfide (DAS) and thiacremonone in garlic have been shown to have anti-arthritic properties. And in the case of allergic airway inflammation, aged garlic extract has been show to improve inflammatory conditions (once again in animal studies).

•Cholesterol Levels: Most of the research on garlic and our cardiovascular system has been conducted on garlic powder, garlic oil, or aged garlic extracts rather than garlic in food form. But despite this research limitation, food studies on garlic show this allium vegetable to have important cardioprotective properties. Garlic is clearly able to lower our blood triglycerides and total cholesterol, even though this reduction can be moderate (5-15%). In addition to the ability of garlic to help prevent our blood vessels from becoming blocked, this allium vegetable may also be able to help prevent clots from forming inside of our blood vessels. This cardiovascular protection has been linked to one particular disulfide in garlic called ajoene. Ajoene has repeatedly been shown to have anti-clotting properties. It can help prevent certain cells in our blood (called platelets) from becoming too sticky, and by keeping this stickiness in check, it lowers the risk of our platelets clumping together and forming a clot.

•Antibacterial and Antiviral Benefits: From a medical history standpoint, the antibacterial and antiviral properties of garlic are perhaps its most legendary feature. This allium vegetable and its constituents have been studied not only for their benefits in controlling infection by bacteria and viruses, but also infection from other microbes including yeasts/fungi and worms. (One particular disulfide in garlic, called ajoene, has been successfully used to help prevent infections with the yeast Candida albicans.) Very recent research has shown the ability of crushed fresh garlic to help prevent infection by the bacterium Pseudomonas aeruginosa in burn patients. Also of special interest has been the ability of garlic to help in the treatment of bacterial infections that are difficult to treat due to the presence of bacteria that have become resistant to prescription antibiotics. However, most of the research on garlic as an antibiotic has involved fresh garlic extracts or powdered garlic products rather than fresh garlic in whole food form.Overgrowth of the bacterium Helicobacter pylori in the stomach—a key risk factor for stomach ulcer—has been another key area of interest for researchers wanting to explore garlic’s antibacterial benefits. Results in this area, however, have been mixed and inconclusive. While garlic may not be able to alter the course of infection itself, there may still be health benefits from garlic in helping to regulate the body’s response to that infection.

•Cancer Prevention:A high intake of garlic (roughly translated as daily intake of this food) has been found to lower risk of virtually all cancer types except cancer of the prostate and breast cancer. However, moderate intake of garlic (roughly translated as several times per week) has been repeatedly found to lower risk of only two cancer types—colorectal and renal cancer. This difference between “high” versus “moderate” garlic intake may be a real difference that suggests we all need to eat more garlic if we want to maximize its cancer-related benefits. Or it may be a difference that is more related to research complications involving the options given to research participants when reporting their food intake. Still, garlic has a consistent track record with respect to general anti-cancer benefits, and there are good research reasons for classifying garlic as an “anti-cancer” food. source

The best part about taking garlic in supplement form from the the Kyolic company is that there is no odor attached to it, yet all the potency remains. (NTEB receives no compensation, financial or otherwise, from the Kyolic corporation.)

Cancer Boy Ran Away from Chemo 20 Years Ago
He is Alive and Well Due to Alternative Solutions

In 1994, a nationwide TV News stir took over the airwaves featuring a cancer riddled teenage runaway with parents pleading for his return. The runaway’s name was Billy Best, and he returned home on one condition: No chemo! He and his parents went alternative.

Now, he is very healthy and cancer-free, back home working in a local health food store, consulting parents of children who are pushed into chemo and participating in medical school seminars on patient choice. He continues to be interviewed by alternative news sites whenever a story breaks on families having to become fugitives for refusing chemo and radiation on their children. He and his mom have a site, too, which can be found here.

Now, he also has a book out, as told to writer Linda Conti. It’s called The Billy Best Story: Beating Cancer with Alternative Medicine, and it has mostly five-star rave reviews on Amazon.

Billy’s Story Summarized

From the bits and pieces of media coverage since the time Billy ran off, one gets the impression that Billy wound up in California. And from there he discovered cancer-healing protocols for his Hodgkin’s lymphoma. But actually, he never reached California. That was his Greyhound bus destination originally, but he wound up in Houston, TX.

Instead of roaming the streets as many run-away teens do, he was fortunate enough to meet up with fellow skateboarders who helped house him. Billy had no idea of there was a nationwide hunt for his return. His parents had contacted several national news outlets out of concern for his whereabouts and health.

But one day, the father of one of Billy’s skateboarder buddies said he saw Billy on one of the TV shows featuring his runaway from home after five chemo treatments. So Billy decided to return home with one provision: no chemotherapy.

Instead, he would decide on alternative methods. His nationwide exposure had elicited many suggestions from which he could choose.

Billy Chose Gaston Naessens’ 714X and Essiac Tea

Gaston Naessens had fled France to be able to administer injections of 714X in Quebec, Canada, but soon ran into problems there also. His solution of camphor, nitrogen and mineral salts is still manufactured in Canada, but its use is banned in North America.

Billy was taught how to inject it himself in nearby Canada, where he could purchase it and still perform occasional maintenance injections. Like potent hemp or cannabis oil, 714-X is on the Medical Mafia’s no-no list and is difficult to get and administer.

Another integral part of Billy’s recovery lied with Essiac tea – a powerful tea that has treated thousands of cancer patients. As long as it’s not promoted as a cure, Essiac tea is very inexpensive and widely available.

The trick is getting the highest quality herbs and making your own tea. Reports of cancer patients not benefiting from Essiac tea are usually because they used prepared teas purchased off the shelves of health food stores, which ironically are also more expensive than buying the herbs and making it yourself.

But Canadian nurse Rene Caisse cured thousands with the tea from her small-town clinic. After she died, authorities raided her clinic and destroyed all the records they could find. But the tea’s recipe was discovered by Dr. Gary Glum, D.C., through one of Rene’s former associates.

Unfortunately, few providers understand the importance of having the exact, fresh organic herbs that Caisse used. Cheating even a little corrupts this tea too much. It’s my experience that you can be assured of the highest quality herbs and instructions for making the tea here (

Queers report higher cancer rates
A large study in California found that cancer may be nearly twice as prevalent among gay men as among straight men. The study relied on self-reported data from the California Health Interview survey, the largest state survey of its kind in the United States, and included more than 120,000 people over three years: 2001, 2003 and 2005.

A total of 3,690 men reported a cancer diagnosis as adults. Gay men were 1.9 times as likely as straight men to have been diagnosed with cancer, said the study published in the peer-reviewed journal Cancer.

There was no such difference witnessed among lesbian and straight women, but gay and bisexual females were twice as likely to say they were in fair or poor health after a cancer diagnosis compared to their heterosexual counterparts.

Romans 1:27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

Links Between Obesity and Cancer
While obesity is often associated with a host of other health issues including high blood pressure, stroke and heart attack, a new study is examining how the condition is also related to cancer risk.

A review of several studies published today in the New England Journal of Medicine found new associations between obesity the development of eight additional cancers, in addition to others previously known.

Researchers from the World Health Organization’s International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) looked at more than 1,000 epidemiological studies and found that "excess body fatness" is also linked to the risk of developing gastric, liver, gallbladder, pancreatic, ovarian, thyroid, blood (multiple myeloma) and brain (meningioma) cancers.

"I think the main takeaway point is that your health and specifically your body fatness is an important factor for many types of cancer," Dr. Richard Lee, Medical Director of the Integrative and Supportive Oncology Program at the University Hospitals Seidman Cancer Center, told ABC News.

"Patients should understand that they can decrease the risk for developing cancer and improving overall survivorship," by keeping their weight below obesity thresholds, he said. This information can help doctors advising patients on cancer risk, he added.

Researchers in this study also attempted to quantify the risk for obese people to develop this variety of cancers. They found obese people had 1.8 times the risk for developing liver cancer, 4.8 times as high for esophageal adenocarcinoma, and 7.1 times as high for uterine cancer. They also confirmed that for some of these cancers, as your weight goes up, so does the risk.

People may not always connect being overweight to cancer risk in the manner they associate drinking or smoking with increased risk of cancer, Lee noted.

"The public hasn't been educated enough that it is a significant risk factor," he said. "I see patients who are interested in ways they can reduce overall cancer [risk]. I always tell them the first place to start is nutrition and exercise and physical fitness."

This is one of the most comprehensive studies on cancer and obesity to date, according to Dr. Xiao Ou Shu, Associate Director for Global Health at the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center. He believes it could help educate the public that being overweight isn't only about cardiac problems.

"I think that the public has been informed about the potential risk for cancer associated with obesity, but there has been much more information disseminated about cardiovascular disease risk than cancer risk," Ou Shu told ABC News.

One positive discovery from this study the authors found is that obese people who lose weight appear to reduce their cancer risk.

"Lifestyle factors such as eating a healthy diet, maintaining a healthy weight and exercising, in addition to not smoking, can have a significant impact on reducing cancer risk," Graham Colditz, MD, Dr PH and deputy director of the School of Public Health at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, who chaired the IARC Working Group, said in a statement. "Public health efforts to combat cancer should focus on these things that people have some control over."

Kidney and thyroid cancer rates up among U.S. children
- But these pediatric cancers remain rare and the increases are very small.
Although the overall rate of cancer in American children and teens remained stable during the last decade, rates of thyroid cancer and kidney cancer seemed to be on the rise, a new study says.

The rate of thyroid cancer saw annual increases of nearly 5 percent and a specific type of kidney cancer, called renal carcinoma, had average increases of 5.4 percent per year, according to the study.

The researchers also found that cancer rates among black children and teens increased 1.3 percent per year. But one doctor not involved with the study said the finding could be a statistical "fluke."

"It's scary to see an increase, but these cancers are overall very rare and the increases very small," said lead researcher Dr. David Siegel, a pediatric hematology/oncology fellow at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.

From 2001 to 2009, the overall rate of cancers among children and teens remained stable at about 171 cases per million each year, Siegel noted.

Although the researchers didn't look at the reasons for these increases, obesity and perhaps exposure to radiation from X-rays or CT scans may have played a role, he suggested.

Siegel hopes that these findings will encourage investigators to find out the "driving forces behind these increases."

The report was published in the Sept. 8 online edition of the journal Pediatrics.

Dr. Ziad Khatib is director of neuro-oncology at Miami Children's Hospital. He pointed out that "the good news is that there is no overall increase in cancer in children."

Khatib said that the increases in thyroid and kidney cancer are small enough that they might just be a statistical error.

"It could be that we are detecting more of these cancers. Compared to 20 years ago, we do more MRIs and more ultrasounds, so we may be catching more of these cancers than we used to," explained Khatib, who was not involved with the study.

Years ago, cancers of the thyroid or kidney might not have been diagnosed until the child was a young adult of 20 or 30, he added.

Khatib said the increase in these cancers might reflect radiation in the environment and the increased use of X-rays and CT scans. In addition, chemicals in the environment and those used in processed foods may play a part in the increase, he suggested.

According to Khatib, effective treatments are available for these types of cancers and the outcomes are generally very good. "They are easily treatable with surgery," he said.

And the rise in cancer among black children might reflect better access to care and therefore earlier diagnosis, Khatib noted. "Time will tell in the next report in 10 years whether this was a fluke or a real increase," he said.

"Cancer is still rare in children," Khatib explained. "So there is no reason to panic."

Khatib added that parents should, however, be concerned about the amount of radiation children get from X-rays and CT scans. In addition, a healthy diet, exercise and not becoming obese all help prevent cancer, he said.

According to the report, the rates of some cancers decreased. A significant 2 percent decrease per year in cancers called extracranial and extragonadal germ cell tumors was also seen. These cancers arise from stray sperm or egg cells that travel to other parts of the body and become cancerous tumors.

Cases of melanoma skin cancer also dropped by almost 4 percent per year, the study found.

For the study, Siegel's team used data from the National Program of Cancer Registries and Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results statewide registries. In all, they identified more than 120,000 cancers among children up to 19 years of age during 2001 to 2009.

Cancer-Causing Chemical Found in 98 Shampoos and Soaps
Tests ordered by an environmental watchdog group revealed the presence of a cancer-causing chemical in dozens of personal care products that lack a warning label required by California law.

The compound, a chemically modified form of coconut oil—cocamide diethanolamine (cocamide DEA)—is used as a foaming agent or thickener in soaps, shampoos, conditioners, and similar products.

Carcinogenic Ingredients in Your Personal Care Products?

An independent laboratory commissioned by the Center for Environmental Health (CEH) tested the products to determine how much cocamide DEA was present. CEH purchased these products after June 2013 from online and local California retailers, such as Trader Joe’s, Walmart, Kohl’s, and Babies R Us.

Many of the products tested contained more than 10,000 parts per million (ppm) of cocamide DEA. In all, CEH identified 98 products with cocamide DEA among the ingredients, none of which carried the warning required by state law.

"The state has not set a [safety] level specific to cocamide DEA," says Charles Margulis, Communications Director and Food Program Director of CEH, "but the levels we found exceed levels typical for carcinogens."

What's in Your Beauty Products?

To comply with California’s Proposition 65, companies are still required to provide a "clear and reasonable" warning to consumers when products they sell or produce contain chemicals listed by the state as harmful. This includes compounds known to cause cancer or birth defects.

Cocamide DEA was added to the California list of harmful chemicals in 2012 after the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) published its review of the chemical’s safety, which was based upon skin exposure tests in animals. "There is sufficient evidence in experimental animals for the carcinogenicity of coconut oil diethanolamine condensate," the agency writes.

Environmental Group Files Lawsuit

In response to the laboratory results, the CEH filed a lawsuit on Tuesday against four companies—Walgreens, Lake Consumer Products, Ultimark Products, and Todd Christopher International.

"Our demand is that companies reformulate their products, without cocamide DEA,” says Margulis. “There are many similar shampoos and soaps on the market made without the chemical, so it is obviously possible to make the products safer."

The CEH also sent legal letters advising more than 100 other companies producing or selling products containing the chemical that their products violate Proposition 65.

In the lawsuit, which was filed in California Superior Court in Alameda County, the CEH accuses the companies of "knowingly and intentionally exposing individuals to cocamide DEA without first giving clear and reasonable warnings to such individuals regarding the carcinogenicity of cocamide DEA."

Dangerous Ingredients to Watch Out For in Cosmetics

The lawsuit asks the court to fine the companies $2,500 a day for each violation and prevent them from selling products containing cocamide DEA in California without a clear warning label.

The CEH hopes these short-term actions, along with their continuing efforts, will have an even wider effect.

"Under the law, companies can simply label," says Margulis, "but we’ve had hundreds of Prop 65 cases over 17 years of doing this work, and in over 95 percent of these cases, we have won legally binding agreements that require companies to reformulate their products. We expect the same in these cases."

Beauty Products contain cancer causers
Potentially Questionable and Controversial and known Cancer Causing Chemicals in Personal Care and Beauty Products.  Almost all companies that sell personal care products have potentially controversial and questionable chemicals in them, and say it isn't so (a lie).

Back in 1938, when the U.S. Government formed the FDA, it was believed that our skin was the perfect barrier to protect us from potentially harmful chemicals. So the chemicals then in use were "Grandfathered in" as safe and legal to use in products that were to be in contact with human skin. Now we know our skin is much more of a dry sponge and we absorb most things that come in contact with our skin. ( Prove this to yourself. Remove one shoe and sock, put a 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder in the shoe, put the shoe back on, {no sock for this test}. Ten minutes later kiss your spouse. They will tell you about your breath.)

The Industrial World USES Propylene Glycol (PG) and Polyethylene glycol (PEG): Industrial Antifreeze, Brake/Hydraulic Fluid, Paint, Airplane De-Icer. These have chemicals have been found to cause adverse health effects : contact dermatitis, kidney damage and liver abnormalities; Inhibit skin cell growth in human tests; Damage cell membranes causing rashes, dry skin and surface damage to the skin.

Sodium Lauryl (or Laureth) Sulfate: Engine Degreaser, Garage/Concrete Floor Cleaner, Car Wash Soap; Surrounds hair follicle in shampoo to keep it from growing, causes hair to fall out; keeps children's eyes from developing properly, causes cataracts in older people; In Toothpaste: Weakens enamel on teeth to cause cavities: SLS is very abrasive and may burn the skin, mouth, Canker sores, or scalp.

Cocoamide, Lauramide DEA (diethanolamine): is readily absorbed through the skin, is a potentially cancer causing ingredient found in many mainstream cosmetics and toiletries. Reacts with nitrates in cosmetics to form another potential carcinogen/DEA. Your blood cells immediately take it through your skin to the body's organs we need: Liver, Kidneys, Heart, etc

The journal of the American College of Toxicology reports that (SLS) is easily absorbed into your skin and builds up in your heart, liver, lungs, and brain... even if you wash it right off after using it!

The Medical College of Georgia has done testing showing that SLS forms dangerous levels of cancer-causing nitrosamines when combined with several other common ingredients found in many personal care products.

1997 - September, the Boston Globe quoted Senators Ted Kennedy and Orrin Hatch as saying That "the Government Accounting Office has identified 125 cosmetic ingredients suspected of causing cancer. Other ingredients may cause birth defects."

Research to Prevent Blindness reports that sodium lauryl sulfate builds up in the eye tissue and may be a cause of eyesight problems in many children? You will find sodium lauryl (or laureth) sulfate in most shampoos.

Why do toothpastes have a warning such as:
WARNING LABELS: Keep out of reach of children under 6 years of age. Do not swallow. ... In case of accidental ingestion, seek professional assistance or contact a poison control center IMMEDIATELY.

So today, without follow up research to prove their safety, potentially controversial and questionable chemicals are in everyday personal care products.

Have you ever read the labels on your deodorant, shaving cream, children's bubble bath, mouthwash and and seen the "warning label" on your toothpaste BOX???

Product warning labels are shown for a reason. It is a fact that many manufacturers use certain questionable and controversial chemical ingredients mainly because they're CHEAP, and give the ILLUSION of working properly But more importantly for the manufacturer, they cost very little to fill the bottle, so it is a bigger profit margin for them. But residues of more than 400 toxic chemicals have been found in human blood and fat tissue.

From 1950 to 1989, the overall incidence of cancer in the U.S. has risen by 54% (smoking related incidences account for less than 25% of the increase). Childhood cancer is up 50%. Today, cancer is the leading cause of death for women aged 35-74. Some researchers believe that many types of cancer starts 20 years before they are diagnosed. Baby Boomers have three times the cancer rate of their grandparents.

In 1901 cancer was considered a rare disease. Statistics show that 1 out of 8000 persons had cancer. Today, according to the American Cancer Society, 1 out of 3 people have cancer. By the year 2000, 1 out of 2 persons will be touched by cancer. (It is a multi, multi-billion dollar business at cancer hospitals. We are robbed of health and wealth)

How much cancer, and other illnesses, are linked to chemical exposure? Sometimes it depends on which "expert" you listen to but even OSHA admits there are at least 880 variations of compounds of chemicals ( that are harmful to your nervous system) and are used in personal care products, cosmetics, and perfumes.

This is just the beginning of the list of chemicals to avoid in products you use daily:

1. Cocoamide DEA, diethanolamine, TEA, triethanolamine, MEA
2.  Propylene glycol, propylene oxide, polyethylene glycol
3. Sodium lauryl sulfate, sodium laureth sulfate
4.  Sodium Fluoride
5.  Mineral Oil , Petrolatum and Coal Tar

There is a proven significant trend towards the incidence of ALZHEIMER'S disease among long term users of ALUMINUM based anti-perspirants? They are even linking ALUMINUM to breast cancer, which is the leading killer for women under 40. But almost all store brands use aluminum. NEWAYS deodorant does not. Tests from scientists and doctors show that ALUMINUM goes right to the brain. Parkinson's disease also has been linked to ALUMINUM in the brain.

DID YOU KNOW... That three of the most popular shaving creams combine two chemicals which together form a likely cancer causing agent? They're even listed right on the label. But how many people would know this? The manufacturers are betting "not many"... NEWAYS Products DO NOT have these ingredients. But another product that does is a popular KID'S SHAMPOO!

Sodium lauryl (or laureth) sulfate (SLS) and propylene glycol are two of the most common ingredients found in many personal care products. Others: Petrolatum,  synthetic Glycerine, Collagen, Kaoloin or Bentonite & Mineral Oil. Sodium lauryl (or laureth) sulfate is a top favorite ingredient listing in kids shampoo & toothpaste.

DID YOU KNOW... Propylene Glycol has over 14 legal synonyms? WHY???
Sodium Lauryl Sulfate has over 90 Legal synonyms? WHY???

NEWAYS products do NOT contain potentially controversial and questionable chemicals in their shampoos or other products!

Your skin is the largest breathing organ of your body, and many chemicals can be absorbed through it. Nicotine and medicine skin patches wouldn't work if the skin couldn't absorb. Yet almost ALL shampoos contain SLS.

DID YOU KNOW... That propylene glycol,(industrial antifreeze) (derivative of propylene oxide) is listed on the FDA government website as a known carcinogen?

This ingredient is used in many facial moisturizer and hand/body lotions, has been found to cause kidney damage and liver abnormalities in scientific and animal testing? Propylene glycol may damage cell membranes causing rashes, dry skin, and surface damage to the skin. Sierra brand anti-freeze for your car is mostly propylene glycol (read it right off the label). Most auto anti-freezes will switch to propylene glycol (from ethylene glycol) in the near future. Is this the best thing to be putting on your skin? At NEWAYS we don't think so, so we don't use it! Ethylene glycol is first ingredient listed on the antifreeze label.

DID YOU KNOW... That KIDS' bubble baths have warning labels on them? Why? It is because the sodium lauryl sulfate in them eats away at the mucous lining of the skin and causes urinary tract infections. Bad for little girls of any age. NEWAYS has a much better product that is safe to use, with NO WARNING LABELS or animal testing needed!!

If you are still not convinced, just read the WARNING LABELS on your child's bubble bath... Bad for little girls of any age!! A world-renowned expert, toxicologist, Chairman of the nationwide Cancer Prevention Coalition, and co-author of Safe Shopper's Bible, Dr.. Samuel Epstein has said that, "Lifelong use of these products... clearly poses major avoidable cancer risks to the great majority of the U.S. consumers, particularly in infants and young children."

DID YOU KNOW... That many children are rushed to the emergency rooms each year due to alcohol poisoning from drinking mouthwash? One of the most popular brands of mouthwash is 26.9% alcohol. In adults, high alcohol mouthwash increases the risk of oral cancer by as much as 60%.

NEWAYS Mouthwash (Eliminator) uses no alcohol and it works great, with over 30 uses such as a bacteria killer, foot odor, Poison Ivy and Poison Oak, etc.

DID YOU KNOW... Recently a thousand people had to be evacuated from their homes, By order of OSHA because a factory near there homes had a one gallon spill of a hazadorous chemical. This ingredient is used in hair shampoo!!!!

All these questionable and controversial chemicals found in our everyday products, combined with the pollution of our air and water, has created an environment that is no longer "user friendly."

BornAgain2, you might notice YOU posted many of these!

Fluorescent Light Bulbs: New Cancer Risk
The Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007 (EISA) mandates the phase-out of incandescent light bulbs, and favors energy-efficient compact fluorescent light (CFL) bulbs.

Sounds good—until you realize that CFL bulbs contain mercury, and mercury poses a significant cancer risk. A new study shows that CFL bulbs also emit high levels of ultraviolet radiation—specifically, UVC and UVA rays. In fact, the UV rays are so strong that they can actually burn skin and skin cells. Experts say the radiation could initiate cell death and cause skin cancer in its deadliest form—melanoma.

In every bulb the researchers tested, they found that the protective phosphor coating of the light bulb was cracked, allowing dangerous UV rays to escape. Healthy skin cells exposed to CFLs showed a decrease in their proliferation rate, an increase in the production of reactive oxygen species, and a decrease in ability to contract collagen.

On top of that, it’s a sad fact of life that light bulbs break. How do you clean up the mercury after a bulb breaks? The Institute for Molecular and Nanoscale Innovation measured the release of mercury vapor from broken bulbs. They recorded concentrations near the bulb of up to 800 mcg/m3, which is eight times the average eight-hour occupational exposure limit allowed by OSHA (100 mcg/m3).

Even more shocking, the recommended limit for children is a mere 0.2 mcg/m3. A child exposed to a broken CFL bulb will receive eight thousand times the recommended amount of mercury vapor!

A broken 13-watt CFL bulb will only have released 30% of its mercury a full four days after it is broken—the remainder is trapped in the bulb. So picking up shards with your bare hands or leaving them in poorly ventilated room while you ponder the best disposal method is a particularly bad idea.

Unfortunately, there is no good solution for cleaning up after a broken CFL bulb. Researchers at Brown are testing a cloth made with a nanomaterial (nanoselim) that can capture mercury emissions for proper disposal. But until this is commercially available, it is best to avoid CFLs altogether. And how will we dispose of the clean-up cloth?

General Electric claims that CFLs don’t produce a hazardous amount of UV radiation, and that UV is far less than the amount produced by natural daylight. The truth is that all compact fluorescent lights bulbs contain mercury vapor. Once that vapor is hit with an electric current, it emits a great number of UV rays. UV rays are theoretically absorbed by the layer of phosphor that coats the bulbs—but the signature twisted spiral shape makes these bulbs more prone to cracks in the phosphor, which dramatically increases UV/mercury exposure. Researchers found cracks in almost all bulbs purchased from retail stores, indicating that it is a standard design flaw of these bulbs.

CFL bulbs contains other cancer-causing chemicals as well. German scientists found that several different chemicals and toxins were released when CFLs are turned on, including naphthalene (which has been linked to cancer in animals) and styrene (which has been declared “a likely human carcinogen”). A sort of electrical smog develops around these lamps, which could be dangerous.

CFLs are supposedly better for the environment, but according to the Association of Lighting and Mercury Recyclers, 98% of CFLs end up in landfills—creating a mercury build-up that can escape into our soil and waterways.

We’re happy that the federal government is tackling environmental problems, but this “solution” is especially short-sighted—and not unlike the national smart meter push, is creating serious health risks in the long-term.

Worse, soon consumers won’t have the option to buy incandescent lights—they simply won’t be available. The government hasn’t placed an outright ban on incandescent light bulbs. Section 321 of EISA mandates higher efficiency standards for general service lamps. But these standards are high enough that most commonly used incandescent bulbs just won’t meet the new requirements. EISA will effectively eliminate 40-, 60-, 75-, and 100-watt incandescent bulbs. The new efficiency levels will be in full force by 2014.

Even the United Nations has acknowledged the problem of mercury in CFL bulbs, and has instated a ban on certain types of CFLs. We won’t know the full implications of that ban until the treaty is made publically available.

The good news is that CFLs are not the only energy-efficient bulbs out there. There are also light-emitting diodes (LEDs), which are mercury-free—though LEDs emit blue light, which can be disruptive to sleep, as we noted in our 2012 article.

Colgate ingredient Linked to Cancer
The chemical triclosan has been linked to cancer-cell growth and disrupted development in animals. Regulators are reviewing whether it’s safe to put in soap, cutting boards and toys. Consumer companies are phasing it out. Minnesota voted in May to ban it in many products.

At the same time, millions of Americans are putting it in their mouths every day, by way of a top-selling toothpaste that uses the antibacterial chemical to head off gum disease -- Colgate-Palmolive Co.’s Total.

Total is safe, Colgate says, citing the rigorous Food and Drug Administration process that led to the toothpaste’s 1997 approval as an over-the-counter drug. A closer look at that application process, however, reveals that some of the scientific findings Colgate put forward to establish triclosan’s safety in toothpaste weren’t black and white -- and weren’t, until this year, available to the public.

Colgate’s Total application included 35 pages summarizing toxicology studies on triclosan, which the FDA withheld from view. The agency released the pages earlier this year in response to a lawsuit over a Freedom of Information Act request. Later, following inquiries from Bloomberg News, the FDA put the pages on its website.

The pages show how even with one of the U.S.’s most stringent regulatory processes -- FDA approval of a new drug -- the government relies on company-backed science to show products are safe and effective. The recently released pages, taken alongside new research on triclosan, raise questions about whether the agency did appropriate due diligence in approving Total 17 years ago, and whether its approval should stand in light of new research, said three scientists who reviewed the pages at Bloomberg News’s request.

Among the pages were studies showing fetal bone malformations in mice and rats. Colgate said the findings weren’t relevant. Viewed through the prism of today’s science, such malformations look more like a signal that triclosan is disrupting the endocrine system and throwing off hormonal functioning, according to the three scientists.

Colgate’s application materials also show that the FDA asked questions about the thoroughness of cancer studies, which are partly addressed in recently released documents.

Some questions about triclosan’s potential impact on people are, by nature, unanswerable. Humans are exposed to dozens of chemicals that may interact in the body, making it almost impossible to link one substance to one disease, said Thomas Zoeller, a biology professor at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, who specializes in how chemicals affect the endocrine system.
