BUY IT, dont wait
Whenever you find what you may need this winter - BUY IT, dont wait.

A caller into a radio program said he was at WalMart and couldnt find several things he needed.
I just went to WalMart and the same thing!
No whole milk, no olive oil, no white pepper and a couple others things I need.

The above story was 2009 - now look at the February 2010 Email I got -

I was in the Murphy, NC Wal-Mart Monday and to my surprise many of the shelves in the food sections were almost bare. especially in the flour and sugar aisle's. I then noticed it was that way all over the food section. I have never seen this before here.

What you have been saying is coming to pass and still people will not try to put some away.

I rarely go to Wal Mart anymore, but when I was in there last summer, they were COMPLETELY REVAMPING the store(which was done by Oct), and the way they were laying out everything, the food section was NOT getting the same priority is used to - all the other stuff like clothes, toys, and other stuff people don't need to much were getting the bigger priorities.

Even though I thought at the time they were setting it up for potential H1N1 shelters(which, of course, didn't come to pass), nonetheless, the lack of priority they were putting in the food sections were alarming to me.[/list]

another email - My source is unimpeachable.

Walmart is purposely not filling their shelves... this has been the case since last year.
The reason is so they can move other products. It is not due to food shortages.

It seems like Wal Mart is changing their marketing to non-food items from what I've seen.
I don't know if there will be a food shortage soon, but inflation could very well hit the roof this year, meaning whether or not there's food on the shelves, people may not be able to afford it.

February 2010
I go to Wal-Mart for a few food items each week.  And the only reason I started going there, is that they are the only ones who carry eggs with a high level of omega-3 fatty acids, at a reasonable price in our area.  I have yet to notice any significant shortages of items in the northwest.  (But being a male, I'm in and out in only a few minutes, and always with 20 items or less.).  LOL!

Years ago I read something that the Wal-Mart's are designed as staging/holding areas, and the location that is designed for giving the mark of the beast.  Who knows?

There are a couple of reasons for the shortages.  Having worked in wholesale and retail many decades ago, you usually have problems with empty shelves after Christmas.  That is actually the reason why they have "White Sales" in January.  Pillows, blankets and bed spreads are very bulky items that take up a lot of shelf space.

As an ex merchandise manager, you realize that you can have the Corporation/stores money either tied up in inventory collecting dust, or in the bank earning interest.  (Back in the early 70s the banks gave you interest on your money.  LOL!).  Therefore, you want to keep the merchandise moving.  Never being out of stock, but not holding any excess.  Weather conditions and strikes by unions can mess up your entire flow.  I once had great difficulty obtaining charcoal for our stores.  When I contacted the vendor, he told me that their forest burnt down.  I still don't understand that one.  LOL!   Seeing that Wal-Mart imports a significant amount from China and our currency being almost worthless, could also reduce the flow.  With our depression, many of the ships are in dry dock.

The Millennium Ark is always forecasting food shortages.
Problems with crops, and weather has affected the production and distribution.

At least once a year a company will perform an inventory of the total value of merchandise they hold.  And leading up to that time, they will try to reduce their inventory as much as is reasonable.  After Christmas would be a convenient time.  You also try to sell off and greatly reduce your ordering of merchandise prior to selling or closing the store.

Occasionally a store may have a run on specific items.  I have had other stores come into our store and purchased our entire stock of a certain item because we were selling it at lower price than the wholesaler.  One year I purchased the entire season supply of plaid stadium blankets for the corporation.  In one week all of them were gone and demand was extremely high.  We thought that one of our order selectors had miss shipped our entire stock, a store will soon be complaining that they had received too many and want to return them.  When we received our computer inventory for that week we discovered that one of our new stores on an Indian reservation bought the entire stock and wanted more.  That one store was selling more "Scottish blankets" each week than all 50 stores sold the previous year.  I think they were Navajos.  LOL!

I would wonder if maybe a local bakery wasn't able to get their regular supplies and ended up going to Wal-Mart for bulk flour and sugar.

Who knows?  But it is something to watch.
I will be more observant this weekend when I make my egg run.
John

November 23, 2012  SPRINGFIELD, Mass. — Police say a Massachusetts man left his girlfriend’s 2-year-old son in a car while he went shopping for Black Friday bargains, then went home with his new 51-inch flat screen television and left the toddler behind.

Police, alerted by store security, found the boy asleep in the vehicle in a Kmart parking lot at about 1:30 a.m. Friday.  They forced their way into the car and took the boy to the hospital as a precaution.  Meanwhile, they tracked the man to his Springfield home.  He told police he lost the boy while shopping, panicked and called someone else for a ride. The boy’s mother was working.  The 34-year-old man was not arrested and not immediately charged, but police say they expect to charge him with reckless endangerment to a child.

2 shot at Walmart in Tallahassee, Fla.
Tallahassee police are interviewing witnesses outside of a Walmart where two people were shot.  A police spokesman says the victims were being treated Friday at an area hospital for wounds that weren't considered life-threatening. It wasn't immediately known whether the shooting happened inside or outside the store or whether it was related to Black Friday shopping.
No arrests have been made.

Black Friday Riots a preview coming Civil Unrest
If Americans will trample one another just to save a few dollars on a television, what will they do when society breaks down and the survival of their families is at stake?   Most of us just assume that there will always be huge amounts of very cheap food available to us, but unfortunately that simply is not a safe assumption

From my rockingchair.....

Too often the 'door busters' prices are cheap knockoffs that wont hold up, and people'd have been better off to buy the real thing.
Its such foolishness.

Long ago I enjoyed going downtown where the pretty lights and windows and all the crowds of people were.  Things were sane, orderly.
I see - I like - I buy .. decently and in order.

Thanksgiving was a time for family, all the relatives came,
we enjoyed each other - and fought with siblings.

O come o come Immanuel, and ransome captive Israel!
COME!  LORD JESUS!

Matthew_4:3  And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.
Mat_4:4  But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

Luk 11:11  If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent?
Luk 11:12  Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion?
Luk 11:13  If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?

Joh 6:32  Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven.
Joh 6:33  For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world.
Joh 6:34  Then said they unto him, Lord, evermore give us this bread.
Joh 6:35  And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.

1 Timothy_6:8  And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.

Hebrews_13:5  Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

Wal-Mart hushed up Mexico bribe
April 2012
— Wal-Mart Stores Inc. hushed up a vast bribery campaign that top executives of its Mexican subsidiary carried out to build stores across that country, according to a published report.

The New York Times reported Saturday that Wal-Mart failed to notify law enforcement officials even after its own investigators found evidence of millions of dollars in bribes. The newspaper said the company shut down its internal probe despite a report by its lead investigator that Mexican and U.S. laws likely were violated.

The bribery campaign was reported to have first come to the attention of senior executives at Wal-Mart in 2005, when a former executive of its largest foreign subsidiary, Wal-Mart de Mexico, provided extensive details of a bribery campaign it had orchestrated to win market dominance.

The Mexican executive, previously the lawyer in charge of obtaining construction permits, said in emails and follow-up conversations that Wal-Mart de Mexico paid bribes to obtain permits throughout the country in its rush to build stores nationwide, the Times reported.

Black Fri-week 2014
Walmart is trying to stretch biggest shopping day of the year into with sales beginning at 12.01am on Thanksgiving Day.  Black Friday had become Black Friday week.  Walmart is extending its Black Friday deals through the entire weekend and will include sales both online and in stores.
Retailers like Target, Macy's, and Old Navy are pushing for earlier openings to lure more shoppers into their stores, but it may prove futile, most people are shopping online.

Honestly, it surprises me why anyone wants to be this worthless junk. A year from now, they'll toss it aside somewhere.

Ultimately - you don't save a dime on black friday's, why? Having to drive around uses gasoline in your car. You're out in the malls for hours, partly b/c of the long lines to wait in, so therefore you end up eating out(which is expensive in those malls). When all is said and done, the costs outweigh the benefits.

US Special Forces take over American Walmart stores
April 17, 2015
Sorcha -  United States top Special Forces command has taken over a number of Walmart stores in America and converting them to Command and Control Centres. Is the Yemen war being directed from a suddenly closed Walmart store in Florida?

Ah - Jade Helm - now it makes sense.  Never was plumbing.
There have been several stories of Walmarts suddenly closing due to 'plumbing problems' during March-April 2015
