US ends ban on New Zealand naval ships
September 21, 2012
The US is lifting its ban on New Zealand naval ships in its ports.
The move was announced by Defence Secretary Leon Panetta, who is in New Zealand to discuss ways of improving military co-operation.
He is the first Pentagon chief to visit since New Zealand banned nuclear weapons from its territory in 1985.
Since then, US warships have been unable to use its ports. Washington suspended its defence treaty with New Zealand in 1986.

Panetta told reporters: "While we acknowledge that our countries continue to have differences of opinion in some limited areas, today we have affirmed that we are embarking on a new course in our relationship that will not let those differences stand in the way of greater engagement on security issues."
The ''policy change'', Panetta said, would make it easier for the military of both countries to ''engage in discussions on security issues and to hold co-operative engagements''.
He was speaking in Auckland at a joint news conference with New Zealand Defence Minister Jonathan Coleman.

Earlier, Mr Coleman said his country welcomed stronger ties, although he said New Zealand's anti-nuclear position remained unchanged.
The relationship between the two countries began thawing after New Zealand sent troops to Afghanistan in 2003.
Panetta also visited Tokyo and Beijing this week as part of a regional tour.
The trip, one of several to the region this year, is seen as central to the US effort to rebalance its forces to the Asia Pacific area as part of a new military strategy.

Fiji launches attack on New Zealand
June 10, 2011  Fiji has tonight launched an unprecedented attack on New Zealand as Tongan navy boats move to occupy disputed atolls north of New Zealand.
In an unsigned statement on the Fiji Government website, their military government accuses New Zealand Foreign Minister Murray McCully of subverting the path to democracy in the Pacific nation.

The Fiji statement also claims that Tongan navy boats have suddenly shown up in Fiji waters and occupied the disputed Minerva Reefs, between New Zealand and Tonga.
Its understood here, from Tongan sources, that two Tongan vessels are at Minerva.

The statement on the website is so completely out of kilter with previous Fiji Government statements that it raises questions over who now is in control in Suva.
The Fiji statement comes as runaway Fiji soldier Colonel Tevita Mara begins a round of public appearances in Australia.
He escaped from Fiji to Tonga three weeks ago to avoid a sedition charge linked to claims he was trying to overthrow Fiji dictator Voreqe Bainimarama.
Mara has been granted Tongan citizenship and despite his military background has been allowed into Australia. He has also applied to enter New Zealand.

"The impending arrival of Fijian fugitive Tevita Mara into Australia and the presence of the Tongan Navy boats within Fiji's EEZ at Minerva Reef demonstrates a concerted effort by the Australian Government in the form of (Australian Foreign Minister) Kevin Rudd ... followed by McCully on their coattails to subvert the path towards the holding of truly democratic elections in Fiji," the Fiji Government statement says.
It claims New Zealand and Australian policy toward Fiji had been a failure.

"The recent fleeing from Fiji of Mara as a fugitive without a Fijian passport, the subsequent issue of Tongan passport to him and the willingness of the Australian Government and now we understand the New Zealand to grant a visa; and the Tongan Government's inaction on extradition papers, all show a web of deceit, collusion and a complete lack of disregard of legal extradition processes."

The Fiji Government says Mara has been lying.
"It is apparent that Mara, a fugitive and political opportunist, has taken advantage of Rudd and McCully's myopia on Fiji and the Southern Pacific.
"Rudd and McCully, driven by their neo-colonial and personal agenda, on the other hand see Mara as someone who can give some form of credibility to their unfounded and misplaced assessment of Fiji and the rest of the Southern Pacific."
The unsigned Fiji statement says Australia and New Zealand are rolling out the red carpet for Mara who has abandoned his country.

New Zealand Lambs dying by the thousands
September 22,  2010
The corpses of newborn lambs are piling up in their tens of thousands as cold weather continues to bite Southland.
Local farmer Donald McCallum says his best efforts are not enough to keep the lambs alive through the storm which has ravaged the region for the past five days.

"You try your best to get them going and the hardest thing is you can bring them in, and bring the lambs in, or get the sheep up and going, and then you put them back out and the next day they're all dead."
While the financial cost continues to rise with every dead lamb, Mr McCullum says the deaths do more than hit farmers in the pocket.
"I do think its the mental cost that costs the farmer, 'cause he genuinely feels for his animals," he told 3 News.
He says it is high time Southland gives more focus to farmers instead of the ruined Southland Stadium.
"You know, everyone's crying about the stadium falling over, but I think there's a lot of sheep and cow farmers in Southland that wouldn't care about the stadium - no one got hurt."

Meanwhile, Federated Farmers' national president Don Nicolson says southern farmers hit by icy storms can do little but wait for a change in the weather.
"We could really use some 'local' warming in Southland," said Mr Nicolson, who farms sheep at Waimatua, southeast of Invercargill.
"The snow we've had is the most I have ever seen in September," he said today during a hailstorm. "After a relatively benign winter, this system has struck at the worst possible time for southern Southland as we're lambing heavily.
"While our dairy colleagues in Southland have also taken a hit, it's the region's sheep farmers that are bearing the full force of this storm."
Mr Nicolson said that while many southern farmers would lose lambs, his main concern was for the ewes that were yet to lamb.

Because the snow had not thawed quickly and there was now bitterly cold driving rain, the combination of it a shortage of feed and high energy demands put additional stress on a ewe's metabolism before labour.
Farmers were trying hard to inject calcium and magnesium as well as glucose into the animals most susceptible to metabolic illnesses, such as milk fever caused by a low calcium levels.

"While most farms have good shelters, the sad reality is that there's little more we can do now but wait for a change in the weather," said Mr Nicolson, who expects his own stock losses to be as high as 15 per cent, four times more than the annual average.
"Losing capital stock is never easy to take and it's a blow to see our improved genetics wasted," he said.

74 pilot whales stranded on New Zealand beach
September 22,  2010
A pod of 74 pilot whales stranded themselves on a remote northern New Zealand beach for the second time this month.
25 were already dead when officials arrived at Spirits Bay beach, 49 still alive and stuck on the beach, another 50 were just offshore.
Whales migrate to and from Antarctic waters beginning around September.

Cracks spell end for historic building
Nov 18, 2010  A 124-year-old heritage building in downtown Auckland is going to be demolished.
Auckland Mayor Len Brown has just announced the landmark building,  which was to be re-opened as a brothel in May, will be demolished.
The old brick Palace Hotel on Victoria Street West - which was under renovation and due to be turned into a brothel - was evacuated after someone noticed cracks in the brickwork.

Council engineers and a surveyor were inspecting the Palace Hotel, formerly known as the Aurora Tavern, after a member of the public noticed the cracks about 4pm.
Metre-long cracks were visible around the windows on the second floor.
"There was some sort of restoration underway, and that was its planned use I believe," Auckland Council spokesman Glyn Walters said.
The original building, built in 1886, appeared to be sound but the cracks were in two annexes, added in 1889 and 1912.
Both those annexes were showing signs of serious cracking, and a decision was to be made early this evening about whether to demolish them, Mr Walters said earlier today.
"While it's a tragedy to lose parts of a listed building, health and safety of people around it come first."

Police and fire services evacuated neighbouring buildings as a precaution and have closed the surrounding block of buildings it is in.
Police inspector Chris Robinson said the hotel, opposite Sky City, "could collapse at any time".
The Palace Hotel, also known as the Aurora Hotel or Aurora Tavern, was sold to the Chow group for $3.3 million in 2008, who were working with an international adult entertainment company and hoped to reopen the premises next year.

Police have cordoned off Victoria Street West between Hobson and Albert Streets. Federal Street between Victoria St and Kingston Street is also closed.

Question   New Zealand gets seat on UN Security Council, favors Palestinian state
October 20, 2014
Will NZ vote to drive Jews out of their land!?
Palestinian terror chief Mahmoud Abbas threatens to unilaterally petition the UN to recognize the State of Palestine and force an Israeli withdrawal.

Evil Abbas wants the United Nations to officially recognize Palestinian sovereignty and independence.  He also wants the UN Security Council to set a firm date for an Israeli withdrawal from all of Judea, Samaria and the eastern half of Jerusalem.

In January 2015, the Security Council will be joined by five new non-permanent members - New Zealand, Spain, Angola, Malaysia and Venezuela.
New Zealand?, Spain, Malaysia and Venezuela support the Palestinian motion.
This of course will bring GOD's curse on those nations.

Usually the US, Britain or France would simply veto such a motion.
But now Britain supports this Evil and so does Barak evil devil Hussein Obama, Muslim terrorist in whitehouse. (blackhouse)

Evil or Very Mad   New Zealand MidEast Position favors Muslims over God's chosen peoples

NZ is on a collision course with the God of Israel
New Zealand
has just gained a seat on the UN Security Council and FM Murray McCully wants to see the veto that the 5 permanent members have removed. The USA has been using it to stop the UN from mandating a Palestinian state and forcing the division of Israel without any negotiations.  NZ PM John Key vowed that New Zealand would be a “small country with a loud voice.”

The LORD GOD is the only Friend Israel has, and His children the true Christians.  The pseudo 'palestinians' cant afford or manage a state!  The idea is insane and originated with the Nobel-winning terror chief Yassir Arafat who now burns in the flames of HELL.
NZ wants to steal GODs land, the land of Israel, from Jews and give it to her Muslim enemies sworn to destroy her.

Whoever calls on the name of the LORD will be delivered.
In those days when I restore the fortunes of Judah and Jerusalem,
I will gather all the nations and bring them down to the valley of Jehoshaphat.
Then I will enter into judgment with them there on behalf of My people and My inheritance,
Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and they have divided up My land.
Joel 2:31-32,  Joel 3:1-2

NZ raises minimum wage
Feb 29, 2016
 -  New Zealand government raised the minimum wage by fifty cents to $15.25.  The government has raised the wage every year since it came into power.  However, unions say the extra 50 cents doesn't go far enough.  Unions are never satisfied.
