CASCADES  *  Mt Hood, Rainier, Helens, etc
These volcanoes are still classified as ACTIVE.
March 2014  I am starting a new thread for them.

Mt. Hood volcano, Oregon
100 recent earthquakes reported in swarm
March 2014  KOIN
– Mount Hood has seen nearly 100 earthquakes in the past few days, but a local seismologist said they are nothing to worry about. Geologists said most of the recent earthquakes have been small with only 30 actually being large enough to tell where they occurred. Researchers said these earthquake swarms happen several times a year and are nothing to worry about. “I wouldn’t say be worried but maybe expect to feel an earthquake. It’s always interesting to feel an earthquake next to a volcano. These swarms in the past have produced earthquakes that were felt at Government Camp,” said Seth Moran, a seismologist at USGS Cascades Volcano Observatory. According to Moran, the quakes are not being caused by magma in the volcano moving, but instead by the tectonic plates shifting. Mount Hood last erupted in 1790.

Henry Gruver had a vision of these volcanoes erupting, saving USA inland from China missiles.
If the China attack on our west coast is as soon as it 'feels' to me - imminent - then the Cascade volcanoes are getting ready to erupt.  Henry Gruver saw the volcanoes blow - causing China missiles to fall dead.

Mt Hood wildfire
August 29, 2011
This is one of the Cascade volcanoes.  It vented steam in 2002.
A wildfire in the Mount Hood wilderness grew to around 2,000 acres Monday.
A helicopter and crew of smoke jumpers were fighting the Dollar Lake fire on the north side of the mountain.

Mount Hood in Oregon
From 0 to ERUPTION in 60 days

Volcanoes can become ready to blow in less time than scientists had previously thought, but their magma is usually kept in a cool, near-solid state.
New research on Mount Hood in Oregon suggests that volcanoes can come up with liquid hot magma in as little as a couple of months.
Mount Hood's eruptions aren't particularly violent, the magma tends to ooze instead of exploding, which is down to the different compositions of the two magmas, according to a previous OSU study.

OREGON  Tension mounting on Cascadia fault
April 30, 2014
- A magnitude 4.7 earthquake struck on Friday off the coast of Oregon in the Pacific Ocean, the U.S. Geological Survey said, but it did not trigger a tsunami warning. The USGS said the quake, which was only 6.2 miles below the seabed, was centered 132 miles west of Bandon, Oregon. The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center showed no tsunami warning in effect following the small quake. –Reuters

Major stress is erupting along a very dangerous region of the Cascadia Subduction zone – indicating seismic tension on one of the most dangerous faults in North America is mounting and should be monitored very closely. -TEP

The Juan de Fuca plate is taking a beating!  A friend had a vision of a great tsunami
from its break up, and anothe friend who lives there has a feeling of something bad impending.
She has seen earthquake clouds.

WASHINGTON  Mt. St. Helens magma
May 2014
Federal scientists say magma levels inside Mount St. Helens are rising. A report issued Wednesday noted that super hot magma is percolating and several areas around the crater are moving away from the mountain. Seth Moran with the USGS says the molten phase that the volcano is going through right now is normal. It’s last dome-building eruptive phase ended in 2008. Moran says there is no impending threat of an eruption, but does predict that it will be the next tornado to blow in the Cascades. Sometime perhaps within the next 20 to 200 years. It’s last serious eruption was in 2004. The May 18th, 1980 eruption was historical. -KXL

I have been keeping track, and these Cascade volcanoes ARE NOT extinct.
There is concern about a major earthquake along the Cascadia fault.

Cascades volcano may pose a threat
May 17, 2015 -  Few notice Glacier Peak
in the northern Cascades in Snohomish County Washington state near the Seattle area.  Glacier has a record of violent, even extreme eruptions.
Glacier Peak lahars can reach Puget Sound by following the Skagit and Stillaguamish rivers.
There is only one seismometer on the west flank of Glacier Peak.
4 more to be placed there in 2016 to detect magma on the move.
Geologist Jim Vallance remembers the May 1980 eruption of Mount St. Helens.
So do I, see this 45 minute video of St Helens.

Glacier Peak, Washington
May 18, 2015
-  After a flurry of earthquakes struck near several dormant volcanoes May 15, and after we saw specific movement at Glacier Peak Volcano in Washington State, now seismic monitoring equipment will be installed on Glacier Peak.

2.7 earthquake Mount St Helens Washington
JUNE 4, 2015
-  After multiple days of volcanic related earthquake unrest in the Southwest United States (Arizona, Utah, California, and Oregon), a magnitude 2.7 earthquake has struck near Mount Saint Helens volcano in Washington State.
All the volcanic related seismic unrest is pointing towards building stress in the region.  The building stress is causing dormant volcanoes to show activity.
